What is Joomla!
Joomla! is a production of Open Source Matters, the same team that brought you the award winning Mambo Content Management System.  OSM has taken their final stable version of Mambo (4.5.2.3), given it a spring clean and named it Joomla! 1.0 In addition, several small features that were going to be released in Joomla! 1.1 have been brought forward and included in this release.

Joomla! 1.0.1 is now available on the forge for download here.

This is a Stability Release, which means it does not have any new features, it only contains fixes, to bugs discovered in the 1.0.0 release.

1.0.1 is available as a Full distribution, which contains all Joomla! files and a Patch distribution which contains only the files that have been changed by the Stability work conducted.

Upgrade Instructions
To update from Joomla! 1.0.0, all you have to do is simply overwrite your files with either the Full Package distribution, or the Patch Package distribution.

After what can only be described as a fantastic voter turn out (more than many countries get
in their national elections) you, the members of Joomla! have selected a new logo.

Joomla 01

Joomla 01 was designed by Alan Urquhart [urquharttownson]

Alan is currently assisting in final tweaks and is even going to the extent of producing
a brand guide for the logo's usage. Hence the final version of the logo is not quite ready
for public display, but will be launched as soon as possible.
