RELEASE DATE:
2011-02-19
DESCRIPTION:
Red Matter Inc. has discovered a vulnerability in the Kunena
component for Joomla!, which can be exploited by malicious people to
conduct SQL injection attacks.

Input passed via the "catids" parameter to index.php (when "option"
is set to "com_kunena", "func" is set to "advsearch", and "q" is set
to any value) is not properly sanitised before being used in SQL
queries. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting
arbitrary SQL code.

The vulnerability is confirmed in version 1.6.2. Prior versions may
also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Update to version 1.6.3.
